Sometimes you need to go back to where you started. Flowers were the first subjects I created using #AffinityDesigner and, occasionally, I like to set everything aside and go back to a basic bouquet as a reset. Created in Affinity Designer for iPad using textures from the built in Stock Studio and the brushes I created for my Bird & Birdhouse Class, up on Skillshare. Happy Almost Weekend! 🌸

Thank you so VERY much to @ikidesigns.nl for this truly amazing review you left for the “Birds & Birdhouses in #AffinityDesigner,” class up on @skillshare . To know that you have walked away from my classes with a new level of comfort with, and appreciation for, Affinity Designer, is my exact goal in teaching these classes the way I do. It means so much to me to see these beautiful reviews and the amazing projects coming from the classes. Thank you so so very much! (Find the link to all of my classes, and two free weeks of Skillshare for new members, up on my profile!)
Making analog marks for the next class... Texture. ✅ Affinity Designer. ✅ And... ❔❔❔
To say, “thank you,” is not enough. Getting this email from @skillshare about my class, “Textured Florals in Affinity Designer,” was a truly wonderful moment. This was my very first class, created when the pandemic caused my artistic year to face plant. Pivoting from art festivals to teaching online wasn’t easy but it has been a truly amazing several months. Many thanks to those who have taken my classes, left such beautiful messages and reviews and, of course, shared your truly beautiful work! I enjoy seeing each and every illustration in all their floral glory! Now nine classes in, I have plans for many more classes, so be sure to stay tuned! If you haven’t checked out the class yet, but would like to learn all about Affinity Designer for iPad while creating fun florals, the link is in my bio. Thank you again everyone and, as I end every video, Happy Creating! 🧡

Ask me which spring blossom I like to photograph the most and my answer will be... all of them. If you ask me where I like to photograph them, my answer will be... everywhere.
This year I am expecting some of these beauties to come up in our garden and frankly... I... can’t... wait. (This one is from one of my maaaaaanny visits to our amazing Botanic Garden here in the Chicago area.)

Photographing flowers makes me happy. That is all. 🌿🌸
