“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – Pablo Picasso

I have been avoiding this blog like the Plague because I wasn’t happy with the direction it was going in. I didn’t want it to be just another photography blog where I throw a bunch of my photographs out there, tell you the motivation behind them and then move on to the next post. While there is nothing wrong with that, there are so many photography blogs out there already and, honestly, my interests and passions as an artist go well beyond photography.

Recently, I rebranded from Tracey Capone Photography to Tracey Capone Fine Art to encompass everything I create and share beyond the lens.  What better time to steer the blog in a different direction than now?

The life of a full time artist is a job (no matter what anyone else tells you), it is far from easy, and has so many facets that people never see. So, going forward, my posts will reflect my journey as a working artist: the creative side, the business side and what my business background taught me, the struggles I face, and more. Having been a full time artist for the last nine years, and being married to another full time creative, I think it’s important to share my experiences, good and bad, my failures and successes, and perhaps help others who may be considering this life.

I don’t know if that’s exactly what Picasso meant by the quote above (because he sure didn’t give his actual work away for free) but I have chosen to interpret it that way.

I look forward to this reboot and refresh and sharing my experiences with you. If there is a topic you would like to see covered, please don’t hesitate to ask. In the meantime, if you would like to know a little more about me, check out the very first post from this blog here.
