When you need to get up but don’t want to get up because you will disturb this… #happycaturday
Want to learn how to create a realistic, textural notepad for GoodNotes (or other apps) using Affinity Publisher? Come join us for a live design session in my free digital creator community, the Creator Collage, this Saturday! I’ll walk you step by step through the process, including best practices for exporting! Find the link to join the Creator Collage in my bio! (Pssst… we are a group of digital creatives of all skill levels IN ALL APPS coming together to share knowledge and learn from on another… see you there!)
Allergies aside(sniffle), this is one of my most favorite times of the year. My start was as a nature photographer and that is where my heart will always be, no matter what else I explore. The ranunculus is one of my favorite flowers (I have many if I’m being honest) and capturing them close up only makes me love them more.
Why do I need an extra large monitor? Let me think 🤔
NEW TUTORIAL! Want a quick and easy way to make seamless textures for your surface pattern designs? Check out my latest tutorial where I show you how to use Pattern Layer in Affinity Photo to create an automatic seamless texture that requires no clean up. Build up a combination of textures to create something uniquely you. You can find the link in my bio!
Many thanks to all of the students who have taken my latest class, to those who have shared projects and left such lovely reviews! (Find a link to the class in my bio) I am super excited that this class has been named a @skillshare Staff Pick, and it is thanks in great part to all of you! Seeing so many of you embrace the efficiency hacks I shared (many of you actually purchasing the entire Affinity suite because of them!) has made every moment spent researching and creating this class worth it! Thank you to Skillshare for the recognition! And, of course, thank you to @affinitybyserif for making such an amazing suite of apps!
Little birds with tufts always make me happy. A Tufted Flycatcher, created in Affinity Designer for iPad.
Today I decided to step away from class prep and do something for me. Baking or cooking is my usual go to when I just need a break so today… bagels. If there is ever a more perfect bread product than bagels, I don’t know what it is. So, behold… poppy seed, minced garlic and everything bagels.
We have a monthly prompt up on the Creator Collage of “Spring Renewal” and this is my first take on it. Created in Affinity Designer for desktop.
For those who have asked if they could purchase the Seamless Pattern Design Macros for Affinity Photo separate of a class, yes! They are up in my shop and you can find the link to them in my bio. (For those who took my latest class, either on Skillshare, or my site, you already have these :))
The new class, “Efficiency Hacks for Seamless Pattern Design in Affinity Photo & Designer,” has been out for a few days and I have loved seeing the response to the efficiency hacks shared. Here are a few of the absolutely touching reviews students have left. Thank you to everyone who has taken the class thus far! If you haven’t taken the class yet, but would like to check it out, you can find it on Skillshare as well as for individual purchase on my own site, The Creator Collage. Links to both are in my profile!
NEW CLASS ALERT! This one goes out to all the surface pattern designers using Affinity Designer. In this class, I’ll show you several ways to hack the process using built in (and truly awesome) tools in the ENTIRE Affinity Suite, both iPad and desktop. Plus, I get to introduce you to one of my favorite time savers, MACROS, in Affinity Photo, and I’ll show you how to create and use macros that can speed up the pattern making process. This is one of the many hacks shown in the class!
