🎉 NEW CLASS ALERT! The next class in my surface pattern design series, Pattern Toolkit, is now live on Skillshare (and coming to my own site The Creator Collage later this week)! Every linear pattern begins with a single, straight line and, in this class, we’ll explore how to turn that line in to four geometric patterns in Affinity Designer V2! 🎉 The next effect in the Editable Text Effects in Affinity series is up on my YouTube channel! In this one, you'll learn how to make a wood burn effect. Because it's editable, you can swap out the text, the font, and the texture and create multiple designs from one. You can also use this process on vector illustrations, not just text! The other day, I received a lovely package in the mail from Canada. (I knew what was inside was beautiful but, quite literally, the packaging was lovely, which is no easy feat when shipping art.) The moment this piece was posted by Alanna, I knew exactly where I would put it on my wall. Fast forward, it’s framed and hung up in that spot and I am so grateful to @alannacartierillustration for sharing her talent, and love of painting beautiful, every day subjects, with the world. I love that I can take a pause, look up from my desk, and calm my mind. Thank you Alanna, for putting your work out in to the world. 🧡

Oh be still my nerd heart… many thanks to Angèle for leaving such an amazing review. I can’t begin to explain how much reviews (and taking the classes and sharing the projects) can truly make a day brighter! Thank you to every student who has done one or more on that list!
