About Chicago Photographer Tracey Capone

Hello and welcome!

My name is Tracey Capone and I am a photographer, illustrator and teacher in the Chicago area. In 2011, I left behind an 18 year corporate career to put my lifelong creative side to work, and I have never looked back.

I share an amazing studio with my husband, painter Joe Smigielski, and our three weird, and highly entertaining cats, Jack, LuLu and Sadie.

I have had the privilege of seeing my work on HGTV, the local Chicago news, in the west elm blog, Sweet Paul Magazine, Time Out Chicago, and Midwest Living Magazine. My photography can be seen on the TV Land show, “Teachers,” as well as on the NBC show, “Chicago PD.” I am proud to have a current partnership, for select work, with Pottery Barn, and a previous partnership with IKEA as well as partnerships with several local businesses.

In addition to my online shop, I am also a Top Teacher on Skillshare, where I teach digital illustration and photography class. I also have a YouTube Channel where I share short form tutorials that complement my classes on Skillshare.
